On March 2 '16 my mom fell and was not rescued until the 4th. I assume the 2nd because she tried to make several '411' calls on that date, she may have meant to call 911, but in any case she was discovered by the home health aide. Disoriented, dehydrated, malnourished and incontinent. Since the 4th she has been hospitalized and then transferred to rehab. The great clean up and out of her apartment has begun. The question remains if she will return or not. At the rehap/home they get her up and dressed and feed her, or hand her food. Feeding her self is on of only two and half "activities of daily living that she can still do. Activities of daily living are markers of a persons ability to be cared for "in the community".
My sister arrives this morning to help with the sorting and cleaning. We have additional help in a few days when a researcher comes to sift through her papers for inclusion in the Archives of American Art.
I should post pictures of some of the weird shit I find!
